Coming Home
Reflections on 2021 & 2020 and the concept of home.
I feel like this pandemic has pulled a lot of us into a deeper relationship of what home means for us.
At the beginning of this all, some of us retreated home, eagerly headed for the hills of our roots and our families as uncertainty began to fill the world around us.
Many ex-pats from all over the world wandered back onto their home soils.
Some aimed for where it felt like home was, some went to the only place it could be. Some in resistance, some in relief.
For some of us, the concept of home was brought into focus when we found ourselves anchorless and we were gently pushed to begin to re-examine what that meant for us.
An opportunity and a gift of time to build the roots needed to support our wings.
An opportunity to come back together.
An opportunity to put ourselves back together.
An opportunity to be supported.
Some of us felt (and perhaps still feel) trapped from our home in the movement of the world, some of us felt relief to lose the pressure to be in movement anymore.
Some of us felt lost, some of us realized we weren't lost after all.
Some of us combed into the home within ourselves, we started the deep cleaning, we began to release the clutter that was in the way of the supportive and inspiring space we needed.
Some of us found our home to be lonely and in need of a welcoming mat, some of us realized we weren't alone.
For me, I returned home to the wilderness I love, inside and outside, and I released the need and constant internal push to try to make my home fit in some rhythms of the world it has never quite been able to survive in.
My big hope for everyone in 2022 is that now is a time to be in abundance, joy, expansion, and connection. That our homes are cleaned out now. That they exist exactly in the way that best supports and inspires us. That now is a time for trust and creativity and joy for joys sake. That we have exploded with the realization of all the beauty trying to reach us right where we are and right where home is for us. According to us, and no one else, because that's what you are meant for and meant to give this world after all.
Big mountains and wildernesses full of love and play from my home to everyone in 2022. Let's light it up
